Clinic Veterinarian
As a Veterinarian at Forsyth Humane Society’s High Volume, Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic, you will play a critical role in providing affordable, high-quality spay and neuter services to pets in our community. You will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, performing a high number of surgeries each day while maintaining a focus on patient safety, comfort, and overall health.
This role is ideal for a veterinarian who is passionate about animal welfare, enjoys working in a team-oriented environment, and thrives in a high-volume clinic setting.
Veterinary Assistant – Surgery
This role also supports general clinic operations, including patient preparation, monitoring, recovery, and maintaining a clean and organized surgical environment. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume clinic focused on providing accessible veterinary care to the community.
A bilingual candidate (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred to help serve the diverse community accessing our affordable veterinary services.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during spay/neuter surgeries and other medical procedures.
· Prepare animals for surgery, including patient intake, weighing, shaving, cleaning surgical sites, and pre-operative preparation.
· Assist with anesthesia preparation and monitoring under the supervision of veterinary staff.
· Monitor animals during surgery and recovery, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
· Observe and report any changes in patient condition to veterinary staff.
· Maintain sterile surgical instruments and assist with cleaning, packing, and sterilizing surgical equipment.
· Prepare surgical suites before procedures and ensure proper cleaning and sanitation afterward.
· Assist with post-operative care and monitoring of animals during recovery.
· Maintain accurate medical records and assist with documentation as needed.
· Support clinic operations by helping maintain a clean, organized, and safe medical environment.
· Assist with patient handling and restraint for examinations, vaccinations, and treatments when needed.
· Provide compassionate care and gentle handling for all animals in the clinic.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Previous experience in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or animal care setting preferred.
· Experience assisting with surgery or anesthesia monitoring is a plus.
· Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow medical protocols.
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume clinic environment.
· Strong teamwork and communication skills.
· Compassion for animals and commitment to humane care.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand for extended periods during surgical procedures.
· Ability to lift and carry animals weighing up to 50 pounds with assistance when necessary.
· Ability to safely handle and restrain animals.
· Comfortable working in a surgical and clinical environment.

Clinic Receptionist
The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for clients visiting or contacting the Forsyth Humane Society Spay/Neuter & Wellness Clinic. This role is responsible for providing friendly, compassionate customer service while efficiently managing front desk operations. The Receptionist helps ensure that pet owners and their animals feel welcomed and supported while facilitating clinic appointments, intake, and communication with veterinary staff. A bilingual candidate (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred to help serve the diverse community accessing our affordable veterinary services.
Key Responsibilities
· Greet clients and visitors warmly and provide excellent customer service in person and over the phone.
· Schedule and confirm appointments for spay/neuter surgeries, wellness visits, and vaccine clinics.
· Check clients and pets in and out for appointments, ensuring accurate information and documentation.
· Process payments and maintain accurate financial records using clinic management software.
· Provide general information about clinic services, pricing, policies, and procedures.
· Assist with intake paperwork and ensure all required forms are completed properly.
· Maintain organized client records and ensure confidentiality of information.
· Coordinate communication between clients and veterinary staff.
· Assist with managing daily appointment flow and helping maintain an efficient front desk environment.
· Support clinic operations by maintaining a clean and welcoming reception area.
· Help promote additional services offered by Forsyth Humane Society, including community resources and programs.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Prior receptionist, administrative, or customer service experience preferred.
· Experience in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or medical office is a plus.
· Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Comfortable using computers, scheduling systems, and payment processing tools.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
· Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
· Comfortable working around animals in a clinical setting.
