Throughout the month of November we were able to give out over 12,000 lbs. of pet food to organizations in Forsyth County who then distribute to those who need it. When you do the math, that equates to roughly $27,000 worth of pet food coming from our pantry and out into the community just last month. For anyone who has donated pet food, thank you! Please know that it is being used across Forsyth County and to help feed the pets in our shelter.
Just today we had a community partner come in to pick up food for a colony of community cats she cares for and tell us about a big orange cat that she had not seen for a while. He had surfaced but was injured. She was able to trap him, get him vet care and the food he needs to recover.
People in our community are utilizing our pet food pantry partners to pickup bags of food to feed their pets through this holiday season when money can get tighter than usual. Make sure to keep an eye on our Pet Food Pantry page to know when and where you can pickup food should you need any from our local partners.
Take Ardmore United Methodist Church for example, they have pickup availability the first and third Thursday of every month from 5:30-7:30pm. You can find them at 630 S. Hawthorne Rd. in Winston-Salem, NC. You can even give them a call for support at 336-971-3851.
Thank you again to all of our Pet Food Pantry partners for distributing to the Forsyth County community. Thank you to Forsyth County residents who donate food to our shelter. Thank you to the people who love and care for pets in this community! You all are amazing and we are so grateful for you!
