Notice from Forsyth County Animal Services:
Effective April 1, 2023, the Forsyth County Animal Shelter will be operated by a new county department. All animals retrieved by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) will be transported to the Animal Shelter and released into the Shelter’s custody. For information about shelter location, hours, animals in their care, reclaim/adoption of an animal, volunteering, and/or donations to the Shelter, call 336-730-2480.
The FCSO Animal Service Division (ASD) continues to provide services to residents of Forsyth County supporting responsible pet ownership. ASD Deputies enforce both North Carolina Laws and Forsyth County Ordinances related to animal welfare, cruelty, neglect, and rabies enforcement. ASD is proud to partner with multiple animal welfare groups in our community to ensure our furry friends are safe and cared for well.
If you have questions concerning a citation you were issued by a Deputy, or are seeking general information about Forsyth County Ordinances related to animals, reach out to ASD by email at animalservices@fcso.us or by phone at 336-917-775. For issues or concerns regarding animals where a Deputy may need to respond, call our 24/7 non-emergency number, 336-727-2112.
** Note: The ASD number and email are monitored during normal business hours. Email and voicemail should not be used to report a concern or file a complaint regarding an animal; these should be addressed by calling 336-727-2112. **
